I play it by just holding the controller and swinging as instructed and it plays great! No need to buy anything else for it! You need to make swings like when you play real golf, and if you don't, the results will be much the same as the real game! If you have a Wii and like golf at all, you must have this game! You can buy aids for the game, like the nerf club, but I don't believe it is necessary to enjoy the game fully. You can change the difficulty in so many ways, you'll be challenged to play all the possible combinations and degrees of difficulty available. You have to make actual swings like your playing the game.

I also have the Tiger Woods golf for the PC and this Wii game is hands down much better. This golf game is the best video game experience I have had to date! Playing this game on the Wii makes it like playing on a golf simulator.
